  1. I can’t find my resume or the job search function on the PA CareerLink® (www.pacareerlink.state.pa.us) website, where are they located?

  1. I can’t find my resume or the job search function on the PA CareerLink® (www.pacareerlink.state.pa.us) website, where are they located?

  2. Your resume and the job search function are now available through the JobGateway® website – www.jobgateway.pa.gov. If you are logged in to your account on the PA CareerLink® website, there will be a link you can click to go to your JobGateway® home page (My Dashboard). Or, you can log in directly to the JobGateway® website, www.jobgateway.pa.gov using the same Keystone ID (Username) and Password that you use for the PA CareerLink® website. All of your personal information, resume(s), etc., from PA CareerLink® will be available on JobGateway®.

  3. Can I use either the PA CareerLink® or JobGateway® website?

  4. JobGateway®, www.jobgateway.pa.gov, will be the website that provides you with job search capabilities and resume creation. There are some things you will still access through the PA CareerLink® website, www.pacareerlink.state.pa.us; for example, registering for events or workshops.

  5. Do I have to complete a new registration to use JobGateway®?

  6. No, if you are registered on the PA CareerLink® website you will use the same login information to access JobGateway®. All of your personal information, resume(s), etc., from PA CareerLink® will be available on JobGateway®.

  7. When I try to register on the JobGateway® website I am getting a message that I am already enrolled. I don't remember registering on the website, what should I do?

  8. If you were attempting to register as a new user, stop at this point and contact your local PA CareerLink® office for assistance. PA CareerLink® staff will assist you in getting in to your profile. NOTE: If you are already registered on the PA CareerLink® website and know your Keystone ID (Username) and Password you will use the same Keystone ID (Username) and Password to log in to the JobGateway® website.

  9. I forgot my Keystone ID (Username) and Password, how can I access my registration?

  10. From the JobGateway® homepage, www.jobgateway.pa.gov, click on “Sign In” at the top of the page. On the next screen, click on the “Forgot your Keystone ID/Password?” link in the Sign in box area. Then, select the option "Job Seeker" and additional options will appear. Select the option that applies to you, then click the Continue button on the lower right. Fill in the information requested on the screens that follow. Screens will vary depending on the option you chose. If you are unable to access your registration using these steps, call, email, or visit your local PA CareerLink® office for assistance.

  11. I apply for jobs on the JobGateway® website but I never hear from the employers. Am I doing something wrong?

  12. One reason we often see is that applicants are not fully applying for the job, instructions are provided below* on the steps you should be following when applying for jobs.
    Another possibility is that after the employer reviewed your resume they did not feel that you met the qualifications for the job. This is why you must make sure that your online resume includes all of your experience, skills and abilities so that employers know your qualifications.

    Note: The JobGateway® system includes job postings from Registered Employers as well as job postings from many different websites (such as craigslist, Monster, CareerBuilder, etc.). Instructions will vary depending upon the source.

    *For Registered Employers: When registered employers list their job openings on the JobGateway® website, they have the option of listing the method(s) they want to utilize for applicants to apply for their jobs. Simply clicking “Apply For This Job” does not necessarily mean you have fully applied. After clicking on the Job Title, you will come to the “Job Details” page. This page contains an overview and summary of the job. If you are interested in applying for the job, click the “Start Application” button. The next page will give you the opportunity to select a resume (if you have more than one resume in the system) and the option to include a cover letter. Then, click “Apply For This Job.” By clicking “Apply For This Job” you will be brought to the screen stating, “Important: Your Application Process is not Complete - See Below!Make sure you read the page carefully for any further contact instructions from the employer.

    *For Job Sources other than Registered Employers: Because these jobs are gathered from a variety of other job posting sites, the method of applying can vary from job to job. After clicking “Apply Now” be sure to follow the instructions. Normally, it is clicking a link that will take you to the job posting source website for further information on how to apply for the job.

  13. Are there charges for services at PA CareerLink® Carbon County?

  14. Use of the JobGateway® website, the Career Resource Center and core services at the PA CareerLink® Carbon County, and almost all of the workshops and events we hold are provided at NO cost. At times we may have an event or workshop that charges a small fee for the materials provided. If there is a cost involved it will be noted.

  15. Do I have to be unemployed to use PA CareerLink®?

  16. No, you do not have to be unemployed to use the JobGateway® website or most PA CareerLink® services.

  17. Do I have to be a resident of Carbon County to use the services at PA CareerLink® Carbon County?

  18. Any resident of Pennsylvania who is eligible to work in the United States can take advantage of the core services of the PA CareerLink®. This includes use of the Career Resource Center (computers, Internet, fax machine, etc.) There are some partner programs in the PA CareerLink® Carbon County that do have residency requirements, for example, Coordinated Child Care and Workforce Training. If you reside outside of Carbon County we can assist you in locating similar services in the county where you reside.

  19. What types of services are available at PA CareerLink® Carbon County?

  20. We have a description of some of the many services we offer under "Job Seeker Services" and "Employer Services" - just click on those links in our navigation bar at the top left of your screen. You can also view what type of services are available from each of our partners by clicking on the "Our Partners" link. Click on the partner name and you will see a description of their services. If a service you are interested in is not listed on our website please feel free to contact our office at 570-325-2701. We maintain lists of many agencies who may be able to assist you.

  21. Is a PA CareerLink® Office located close to where I reside?

  22. A list of PA CareerLink® Offices or participating agencies can be found at www.jobgateway.pa.gov. Scroll to the bottom, on the right side you will see “Find your local office.” Enter your zip code and click the “Show Offices” button. Or, on the left side, click on “PA CareerLink® Offices” and enter your zip code and the radius you wish to search, then click the “Search Offices” button.

  23. How do I file an Unemployment Compensation claim?

  24. You can file a claim by calling 1-888-313-7284, or over the Internet at www.uc.pa.gov. If you do not have access to a telephone or the Internet, PA CareerLink® Carbon County has a telephone you can use that offers a direct line to the Unemployment Compensation Call Center for filing your claim. Or, if you prefer, use our computers to file your claim over the internet.

  25. Can I file an Unemployment Compensation claim in person?

  26. Claims are no longer filed in person, please see the methods listed above on how to file a claim. Any questions concerning your claim should be directed to 1-888-313-7284. If you need assistance in faxing forms pertaining to your Unemployment Compensation claim feel free to visit the PA CareerLink® Carbon County office, we will fax your forms at no charge to you.
