If you are logged in to your account on the PA CareerLink® website, there will be a link you can click to go to your JobGateway® home page (My Dashboard). Or, you can log in directly to the JobGateway® website, www.jobgateway.pa.gov using the same Keystone ID (Username) and Password that you use for the PA CareerLink® website. JobGateway®, www.jobgateway.pa.gov, will be the website that provides you with job search capabilities and resume creation. Registering on the JobGateway® website is a simple 5 step process. Following are quick tips on how to register on the JobGateway® website: Start by going to the JobGateway® website www.jobgateway.pa.gov and click on “Register as a Job Seeker” at the top right of the screen. Please keep in mind that most of the information you enter in your registration becomes part of your online resume that employers can see. Remember to capitalize where appropriate. It is not recommended to type in all capital letters, it is not pleasing to the eye. Also, as you complete each section, make sure you provide enough information to show potential employers exactly what type of experience and skills you possess. Step 1 - Personal Information
If you were attempting to register as a new user, stop at this point and contact your local PA CareerLink® office for assistance. PA CareerLink® staff will assist you in getting in to your profile. NOTE: If you are already registered on the PA CareerLink® website and know your Keystone ID (Username) and Password you will use the same Keystone ID (Username) and Password to log in to the JobGateway® website. From the JobGateway® homepage, www.jobgateway.pa.gov, click on “Sign In” at the top of the page. On the next screen, click on the “Forgot your Keystone ID/Password?” link in the Sign in box area. Then, select the option "Job Seeker" and additional options will appear. Select the option that applies to you, then click the Continue button on the lower right. Fill in the information requested on the screens that follow. Screens will vary depending on the option you chose. If you are unable to access your registration using these steps, call, email, or visit your local PA CareerLink® office for assistance. Return to top of page
In the upper right of your screen where you see “Welcome, [your name].” Click on your name which will take you directly to the personal information page. Remember, after making your changes, scroll down and click “Save and Continue” to save your changes.
Second method: From your JobGateway® homepage (My Dashboard), hover your mouse over “Manage My Profile” in the navigation bar. Then, from the dropdown, click on “Profile.” Under Profile Summary at the top left, click on “Edit Personal Info” located under your name and address. Make your changes, scroll to the bottom, and click “Save and Continue” to save your changes. Return to top of page
If you added a new job, education, etc., but you aren’t seeing the new information on your resume, follow these steps: Log in to your JobGateway® account. From your homepage (My Dashboard) under “Manage My Resume” click on “View All Resumes.” Select the resume you want to update, then click on the “Edit” button. Scroll down the page and make sure you have placed a check in the “Include in Resume” box (on the right) for each item you want on your resume. Remember to click one of the Save options at the bottom of the page after checking the box(es). Return to top of page
One reason we often see is that applicants are not fully applying for the job, instructions are provided below* on the steps you should be following when applying for jobs.
Another possibility is that after the employer reviewed your resume they did not feel that you met the qualifications for the job. This is why you must make sure that your online resume includes all of your experience, skills and abilities so that employers know your qualifications.
Note: The JobGateway® system includes job postings from Registered Employers as well as job postings from many different websites (such as craigslist, Monster, CareerBuilder, etc.). Instructions will vary depending upon the source. *For Registered Employers: When registered employers list their job openings on the JobGateway® website, they have the option of listing the method(s) they want to utilize for applicants to apply for their jobs. Simply clicking “Apply For This Job” does not necessarily mean you have fully applied. After clicking on the Job Title, you will come to the “Job Details” page. This page contains an overview and summary of the job. If you are interested in applying for the job, click the “Start Application” button. The next page will give you the opportunity to select a resume (if you have more than one resume in the system) and the option to include a cover letter. Then, click “Apply For This Job.” By clicking “Apply For This Job” you will be brought to the screen stating, “Important: Your Application Process is not Complete – See Below!” Make sure you read the page carefully for any further contact instructions from the employer. *For Job Sources other than Registered Employers: Because these jobs are gathered from a variety of other job posting sites, the method of applying can vary from job to job. After clicking “Apply Now” be sure to follow the instructions. Normally, it is clicking a link that will take you to the job posting source website for further information on how to apply for the job. Return to top of page
Use of the JobGateway® website, the Career Resource Center and core services at the PA CareerLink® Carbon County, and almost all of the workshops and events we hold are provided at NO cost. Any resident of Pennsylvania who is eligible to work in the United States can take advantage of the core services of the PA CareerLink®. This includes use of the Career Resource Center (computers, Internet, fax machine, etc.) There are some partner programs in the PA CareerLink® Carbon County that do have residency requirements, for example, Coordinated Child Care and Workforce Training. If you reside outside of Carbon County we can assist you in locating similar services in the county where you reside. Return to top of page

You can file a claim by calling 1-888-313-7284, or over the Internet at www.uc.pa.gov. If you do not have access to a telephone or the Internet, PA CareerLink® Carbon County has a telephone you can use that offers a direct line to the Unemployment Compensation Call Center for filing your claim.
