“BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS” – Are you new to computers? Let us teach you
the basic skills in our hands-on workshop. We’ll cover introduction to hardware
and software, keyboard layout, using a mouse, basic word processing, Internet
and more. Come and learn the basics – seating is limited so register
early! This workshop is provided by PrimeTech Training. Top of page
“CAREER EXPLORATION” – Designed for those considering training to
either change careers or upgrade their skills. Attendees will identify their
personality profile and use this profile to identify possible suitable careers.
Useful information will be provided on how to research careers and occupations,
including prevailing wages and occupational outlook for the future. Deciding
whether training is “right” for you, tips on selecting training providers, and
information on funding options are also discussed. This workshop is REQUIRED for any TAA participant wishing to enter
training under the Trade Act of 2009.

“CHILD CARE INFORMATION WORKSHOP” – Find out what you need to know about child
care services in Carbon County. (The information provided in this workshop deals
with services available to residents of Carbon County only. Current Carbon
County residents, or anyone planning on moving to Carbon County, would benefit

“COMPUTERS IN THE WORKPLACE” – Increase your earning potential by expanding
your knowledge in all aspects of computers. This workshop, provided by
PrimeTech Training, is designed for people who recognize how important the
computer is in today's world. This informative seminar will cover: *The role of
the computer in today's changing environment. *The opportunities that will
become available to you after your computer training. *How to decide what area

“INTERVIEWING SKILLS WORKSHOP” - Learn the 7 phases of a job interview.
How can you make a good first impression?
**Requires a minimum of 3 individuals to hold workshop. Top of page
“ORIENTATION TO EDUCATION ASSISTANCE” - Learn about what the Educational
Opportunity Centers, Inc. (EOC) can offer you in the way of financial
assistance for education and training. Career decision making and training
opportunities will be discussed. If interested, you will have the opportunity
to take the interest profile test or schedule an appointment to speak with a
representative. Orientation will last approximately 1/2 hour. If you choose to
stay for the interest profile test, it will be an additional 1 to 1½ hours in length. Top of page
“PA CAREERLINK® WEBSITE TIPS” – Learn how to use the PA CareerLink® website effectively to maximize your job search efforts. Find
out why you may not be getting responses to the jobs you apply for. This
comprehensive workshop shows you how to use all aspects of the PA CareerLink®
website and access the wealth of information available at your fingertips.

“STATE CIVIL SERVICE SEMINAR” – Do you want to find out how to apply for
Civil Service jobs? This workshop will help you understand how Civil Service
works and how to apply to take Civil Service exams in order to get a State or
County government job. We’ll also cover information on how to apply for
Federal, US Postal Service and Non-Civil Service positions. Learn what websites
to look at – how to complete an electronic application and the hiring
