“BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS” – Are you new to computers? Let us teach you
the basic skills in our hands-on workshop. We’ll cover introduction to hardware
and software, keyboard layout, using a mouse, basic word processing, Internet
and more. Come and learn the basics – seating is limited so register
early! This workshop is provided by PrimeTech Training. Top of page
“CAREER EXPLORATION” – Designed for those considering training to
either change careers or upgrade their skills. Attendees will identify their
personality profile and use this profile to identify possible suitable careers.
Useful information will be provided on how to research careers and occupations,
including prevailing wages and occupational outlook for the future. Deciding
whether training is “right” for you, tips on selecting training providers, and
information on funding options are also discussed. Top of page
“CHILD CARE INFORMATION WORKSHOP” – Find out what you need to know about child
care services in Carbon County. (The information provided in this workshop
deals with services available to residents of Carbon County only. Current
Carbon County residents, or anyone planning on moving to Carbon County, would

“INTERVIEWING SKILLS WORKSHOP” - Learn the 7 phases of a job interview.
How can you make a good first impression?
**Requires a minimum of 3 individuals to hold workshop. Top of page
“NORTH PENN LEGAL SERVICES OUTREACH PROGRAM” - This outreach program will focus on expungement of criminal records. General questions
concerning what North Penn Legal Services offers will also be taken. The
presenter will be a representative of North Penn Legal Services, providers of
legal representation to low-income individuals.
“ORIENTATION TO EDUCATION ASSISTANCE” - Learn about what the Educational
Opportunity Centers, Inc. (EOC) can offer you in the way of financial
assistance for education and training. Career decision making and training
opportunities will be discussed. If interested, you will have the opportunity
to take the interest profile test or schedule an appointment to speak with a
representative. Orientation will last approximately 1/2 hour. If you choose to
stay for the interest profile test, it will be an additional 1 to 1½ hours in length. Top of page
“PA CAREERLINK® WEBSITE TIPS” – Learn how to use the PA CareerLink® website effectively to maximize your job search efforts.

comprehensive workshop shows you how to use all aspects of the PA CareerLink®
website and access the wealth of information available at your fingertips.

“RESUME ASSISTANCE” – Develop a resume
that will get noticed by employers. Learn how to create a resume that enhances
your strengths and capabilities. Learn about the 3 different styles and
discover which one best fits your needs. Today's job market usually requires a
resume, don't be left behind by not being informed and

“STATE CIVIL SERVICE SEMINAR” – Do you want to find out how to apply for
Civil Service jobs? This workshop will help you understand how Civil Service
works and how to apply to take Civil Service exams in order to get a State or
County government job. We’ll also cover information on how to apply for
Federal, US Postal Service and Non-Civil Service positions. Learn what websites
to look at – how to complete an electronic application and the hiring
