BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS” – Are you new to computers? Let us teach you the basic skills in our hands-on workshop. We’ll cover introduction to hardware and software, keyboard layout, using a mouse, basic word processing, Internet and more. “CAREER EXPLORATION” – Designed for those considering training to either change careers or upgrade their skills. Attendees will identify their personality profile and use this profile to identify possible suitable careers. Useful information will be provided on how to research careers and occupations, including prevailing wages and occupational outlook for the future. Deciding whether training is “right” for you, tips on selecting training providers, and information on funding options are also discussed. This workshop is REQUIRED for any TAA participant wishing to enter training under the Trade Act of 2009.   Top of page

ORIENTATION TO EDUCATION ASSISTANCE” - Learn about what the Educational Opportunity Centers, Inc. (EOC) can offer you in the way of financial assistance for education and training. Career decision making and training opportunities will be discussed. If interested, you will have the opportunity to take the interest profile test or schedule an appointment to speak with a representative. Orientation will last approximately 1/2 hour. This workshop will help you understand how Civil Service works and how to apply to take Civil Service exams in order to get a State or County government job.
