CARBON COUNTY AREA AGENCY ON AGING
The Carbon County Area Agency on Aging offers the following services:
- Employment Services
- Available to persons 55 years or older. They are subsidized programs to offer entry and training to those in most financial need.
- Transportation
- Provided for persons 6o years of age or older for medical appointments, to Senior Centers or activities relative to the Senior Centers.
- Benefits Counseling
- Counseling assistance with eligibility and application for pharmaceuticals, Medicare, Medicaid, supplemental insurances, or other benefits available to seniors.
- Information and referrals
- For persons seeking information and resources and services available to them.
- Volunteer Opportunities
- For persons seeking rewarding involvement in senior programs or issues.
- Special Programs
- Protective services, Ombudsman, legal services, family caregiver support, PDA Waiver Services, and Options Community based Services.
Information/application process for these services:
Contact the Carbon County Area office on Aging located at 401 Delaware Ave. (Third floor) Palmerton, PA 18071, phone 610-824-7830 or 800-441-1315. Office hours Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. An appointment is preferred, however, walk-ins are accepted. A representative is also available at the PA CareerLink Carbon County every Wednesday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, by appointment.
